PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Humayun Kabir completed B.Sc. (Hon's) in Physics from Jahangirnagar University (JU), Savar, Dhaka in 2005 and M.Sc. in Physics from the same university in 2007. He carried out a thesis on electronics under supervision of Professor Dr. Md. Abdul Mannan Chowdhury. As a part time researcher, he also completed his M. Phil degree in the field of material science from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka-1000 in 2013. He completed his M. Phil research work under direct supervision of Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan. Then he awarded Bangabandhu Fellowship for his MRes study at the University of Birmingham (UOB) and for this he travelled to Birmingham on 25 September 2015 under study leave from JU. He achieved MRes degree from the school of Metallurgy and Materials in the UOB, UK under the supervision of world-renowned Biomaterials Scientist, Prof. Dr. Artemis Stamboulis in the field of Nano and biomaterials. Later, he attained RTP commonwealth Scholarship from Australian government to pursue his PhD degree at the School of Manufacturing, Materials and Mechatronic Engineering at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. He received a PhD degree from the RMIT University in 2023 under close supervision of Dr Yuncang Li. He developed a series of new Zinc-based Biomaterials for Biomedical Applications during his PhD research work and published a number of articles in the Q1 journals.

 

He worked as a lecture and assistant professor at the department of Physics, JU, Savar, Dhaka from 25th August 2009 to 11 September 2012 and from 11th September 2012 to 09th December 2016, respectively. He has been working as an Associate Professor at the same department and same university from 10th December 2016 to till. His research field is Electronics and Materials Science specially in Nano and Bio Composites, and Polymer thin films. He has published more than 65 research papers in different national and international journals.
